Going to the Turtle Back Zoo has always been a childhood memory for me. Whether it was going with my elementary school class or with my family, it was sure to be a fun time. In 1963, the zoo first opened with a collection of 140 animals of 40 species. Then, in 1973, the zoo acquired even more animals, growing the number up to 840 and 275 species. Being able to see that many animals within one day is sure to peak anybodies interest.
Furthermore, the prices aren’t horrible either. Being a non-profit, the admission ranges from $12-15 (Adults are $15 while kids and seniors are $12) and babies are free if they’re under the age of two. Plus, there’s free parking and strollers available upon request! If you or someone you’re going with isn’t a huge fan of animals, there’s also a treetop adventure course, ice arena, butterfly tent, carousel rides, pony rides, a playground, boat rides, and even mini golf! There’s definitely something here for anybody.
